Association des Femmes Potières du Hebbiya et du Yirla (AFPHY) is a community-based organization that stands against Gender based Violence and Discrimination. We do this by promoting Education, Equal rights, and Generating jobs for women and girls, specifically for those who live in rural areas.
AFPHY gathers four villages (M'Bagne, M'Bahé, Haïmédatt, and Dabbé) in the region of Brakna, Mauritania. To date, AFPHY gathers more than 235 women and girls who manufacture clay-based items such vegetables containers, water coolers, floor tiles, bricks, pottery etc. in order to have an Economical Freedom.
From 2018 to 2019, AFPHY members have sold 1600 ventilation ducts to the International Labour Organization (ILO) Mauritania for its PECOBAT project.

Promote Pottery as a model of Economic Development
